I'm the US importer of Traveller's rums and I've got One Barrel in stock in my warehouses in California and Arizona.
One Barrel is the best rum I've ever tasted and until now it was never imported to the USA. Describing the taste of 1 Barrel isn't easy. It's a very aromatic rum with lots of flavor. I've heard the rum's nose described as "floral". I can agree with that, because the aroma reminds me of hibiscus flowers and papaya fruit. Tasted straight, One Barrel is quite smooth without a bite to it. You can taste the memory of the molasses that was used to make the rum. The molasses flavor isn't overpowering, it's subtle. This makes the rum mix well with juices and colas, which are the most common mixers for rum drinks. The hint of molasses seems to complete the flavor of the mixers, actually improving the taste when compared to the mixer alone. To me, the finish is pleasant, with toffee and toasted cashew flavors in the profile. People who taste One Barrel rum usually end up being One Barrel drinkers, even if they hated rum before they tried this one.

On Line. You can buy One Barrel rum on line from several retailers. Just Google "One Barrel rum".
I can tell you, in a roundabout way, that the Florida stores of Total Wine & More and ABC Fine Wines either stock the rum or they can get it for you by special order.
In the greater Chicago area, One Barrel rum is carried at Binny's Beverage Depot stores. This is a new product for them, and not every store has the rum in stock so it's a good idea to check the website for locations and call ahead to see if the store near you has One Barrel on the shelf. Of course, any Binny's store can special order the rum for you. Just ask.
One Barrel is in California, contact me for details. K&L Wines is one chain of stores where you can find 1 Barrel. K&L also ships the rum to addresses in California and elsewhere. You can find One Barrel at Baron's Marketplace stores in the San Diego area.
Illinois is a new state for One Barrel rum. My distributor downstate is Specailty Distributing in Peoria. For the rest of the state, the rum is distributed by Wein Bauer. In the greater Chicago area, there's a chain of stores called Armanetti's that has 1 Barrel in some of their stores. The others can order it. Armanetti's website is under construction, but a quick look at the yellow pages shows quite a few locations.
Arizona has One Barrel in a few bars and liquor stores. One of the retail chains, Sportsman's Liquors keeps the rum in their three stores and ship it out of state, too. I just added the chain of grocery stores, AJ's Fine Foods to the retailers that carry 1 Barrel rum. AJ's might not have the rum in stock in every store yet, so it's a good idea to click here to check get a list of store locations. AJ's is locally owned through the Basha's family of supermarkets, so any Basha's location can order the rum for you.
In Michigan, you can buy 1 Barrel Refined Old Rum through any party store. Just tell them to order product No.3800 through General Wine & Liquor at 313-867-0521.
Indiana has One Barrel rum. One of the retail chains, Cap N Cork stocks the rum. Contact me for other retailers in Indiana.
If you live in Pennsylvania, you can buy One Barrel through your local liquor store. E-mail the state liquor board's special order department at ra-lbslo@state.pa.us and ask for item No.67308.
The State of Washington sells One Barrel through their state liquor stores. Click on this link and enter "One Barrel rum", then select "locate store" to see if there's a store near you. If not, just place a special order through your favorite store.
Alabama has started special ordering One Barrel through the state ABC. Ask for product code A4804.
Those near Vermont can place a special order at this webpage. The product number is 900070.
North Dakota also has 1 Barrel rum. Check at Happy Harry's, or ask your local liquor store to contact Republic Distributing at 701-282-0985 to put the rum on the shelf.

Special orders in West Virginia are available now. Just ask for item number 9194.
In what's known as control states, the rum is available on a special order basis through any state liquor store. Control states include Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Hapmshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wyoming.
It's the same thing in Canadian provinces. Retailers can order One Barrel from their provincial liquor apparat. In Ontario, One Barrel is shipping by special order product code 150309. In Manitoba the special order product code is 6407.
I've started working with duty free shops on the US-Canada border to bring 1 Barrel rum to Canadian customers. So far, I've signed up a store in Marine City, Michigan for Ontario, Canada. I hope to have a store soon on the border with British Columbia with One Barrel on the shelves. If you know a duty free shop that would like to carry the rum, please e-mail me right away.
